Published in the 'Diário Oficial da União', text defines benefits to farmers who adopt integrated systems for recovery of degraded areas.
The National Policy of Crop-Livestock-Forest integration has among its objectives the preservation and improvement of the physical, chemical and biological conditions of the soil and the attention to principles and environmental protection laws.
The publication provides the stimulus to alternative measures to burning forest, in addition to the diverse use of the land with the purpose of improving the income of farmers.
This process intends "a sustainable production strategy that integrates agricultural, livestock and forestry activities carried out in the same area with a view to the recovery of degraded areas, economic viability and environmental sustainability".
Among the incentives offered by the law is creating and fostering rural credit lines to obtain official banks loans and benefits associated with rural infrastructure programmes (energy, irrigation and storage, among others).
